Kits are needed to 'upgrade' your basic campfire into a Cooking Campfire.
There are five types of kits:
- Empty Kits
- Spit Kits
- Grill Kits
- Pan Kits
- Useless Kits
These Kits will each, except for the empty and useless Kit, of course, change a basic Campfire in their respective cooking one (Spit/Grill/Pan Campfire). To create a spit, grill or pan kit, you need to place items into the kit (see recipe for more information), if the items match the recipe the kit will change into a spit, grill or pan Kit, if not, the Kit will become a useless Kit (you can always change the items in a Kit to change its type).
To use a Kit and change a basic campfire into a cooking one, you need to place the Kit into the Kit slot of the campfire (the top-right slot), note that the Kits do not work on Decoration Campfires. After placing the Kit, you will not lose it and you can freely take it out of the campfire.
When holding shift while hovering with a mouse over a kit in a GUI will show its contents.

To craft a special kit, you need to right-click the Kit to open the Kits GUI, there you need to place items matching the special Kits recipe.
